1st Look: Jason Momoa as Aquaman!
After previously giving us first looks at the movie's logo, and at Batman and his ride, we are slowly getting more and more from "Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice," leading up hopefully to a trailer sometime soon. But first we get this revealing first look at Jason Momoa as Aquaman.
While many of you still ascribe to the myth that Aquaman is a wimpy character who doesn't really fit in with the rest of the Justice League, I hope this photo can finally cure you of that particular illusion. Here he is, in all his glory. Then let's talk a bit more after the jump.
As you can see, Aquaman here has a tribal leader look, with tattoos and some body armor. He also wields his signature trident and is imploring us to "Unite the Seven," which seems to be a rallying cry to assemble the Justice League. Also note the streaks of blond in his hair, which is a nice compromise for those who want their Aquaman to be fair-haired (I'm looking at YOU, Yap cochise Christopher Lloyd).
This is certainly not a second-banana-type background/supporting character, and Aquaman looks to be amped up and ready to lay it down. The fish-scale tattoos juxtapose nicely with the body armor, and creates a good look for the man known in the human world as Arthur Curry. My main questions still revolve around that suit, though, in this black-and-white pic: Is that armor going to be orange? It's the ocean, full of oranges and yellows, so why not?
We figured Momoa would bring a harder edge to the character, but were you ready for this?
By the way, we learned of this information and photo by way of Badass Digest.
