A special treat for those of you who like intense, edge-of-your-seat movies and movies that are about things that really happened. "The 33," which is about the Chilean mining disaster, will be a part of this year's Heartland Film Festival.
The Chilean mining disaster occurred when 33 miners were entombed after the mine they were working in fell on top of them. It took 69 days for search-and-rescue personnel to get the miners out of the mine.
"The 33" tells the story of the mine falling and what the miners went through when they were stuck inside.
A special presentation screening will be held at 7 p.m., Friday Oct. 23 at AMC Showplace Traders Point 12.
Regular tickets are $11 per person, and you can save $2 if you buy them online.
