Chloe Moretz is taking on the role of The Little Mermaid

Get ready to see "The Little Mermaid" like you've never seen it before.

Universal and Working Title are teaming up for a live-action version of "The Little Mermaid," and Chloe Moretz is taking on the role of everyone's favorite mermaid.

The movie will get its material from the original Hans Christian Andersen fairytale, in which a mermaid rescues a prince after he almost drowns, and the mermaid makes a deal with a witch so that she can be on terra firma and try to make the prince fall in love with her.

No word yet on if their take will be more family-friendly like the Disney version or if it will be as brutal as the original.
