In the film that won him an Academy Award, Jeff Bridges stars as Bad Blake, whose life could emulate the country songs he was once famous for singing. Blake's life becomes a hard lived one, filled with alcohol and paved with a road of broken relationships. Then he meets Jean (Maggie Gyllenhaal) a journalist who begins to dig deeper into Blake, which opens the door for the musician to find a path to redemption.

As the family struggles to understand what could have happened to their daughter, Susie watches from her unique vantage point of heaven - a world as could only be seen through her eyes. To do so, Jake must make his voyage as an Avatar, genetically engineered hybrid humans. But in his travels to Pandora, Jake is introduced to the native inhabitants of that world and what begins is an adventure that will change everything.
