Critics and viewers alike have sung praises over director Kathryn Bigelow's searing look at life in the middle of war and of protocol. Two U.S. soldiers, part of a specially trained unit, walk the fine line of war seeking out and trying to prevent the detonation of Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs). The already intense pressure mounts as the two find frustration in a change in leadership, a new perspective on their work and the world before them as they get closer and closer to the end of duty.
Rated R
Tyler Perry returns as Madea in this film also starring Academy Award nominee Taraji P. Henson as April, a lounge singer with little to do with anyone but herself. That begins to change, when her niece and her nephews arrive at her doorstep in need of a place to stay and someone to care for them. Reluctant to take in the three children, April is moved to take in yet another tenant, Sandino (Adam Rodriguez), a handyman looking for room and board. Trying hard as she can to push everyone away, April will have to ask herself which is worse, being alone or facing the fear of letting love in. Also starring Gladys Knight and Mary J. Blige.
