Emilia (Natalie Portman) and Jack met when she was a law student at Harvard and he was her married professor. When they married, their life together seemed to be getting off to a new start with a newborn baby. But when Jack and Emilia tragically lose their daughter, the two must find a way to manage their grief and Emilia must find a way to make peace with herself, all the while trying to build a relationship with her stepson.

Sara (Minka Kelly) and Rebecca (Leighton Meester) seemed to be the perfect roommates. Both are interested in art, fashion and culture. But when Rebecca seems to be a little overly possessive of her friend, Sara starts to keep her distance.
