Uxbal (Javier Bardem) is a devoted father to his children who is also embroiled in the seedy and morally compromising underworld of Barcelona. As he tries to solidify a life and a future for his children, he struggles against a fractured ex-wife, an uncertain future of his own and a world beyond the streets of Barcelona.
