Dance Flick
No one and no dance floor is safe from the Wayans’ and their merciless take on movies that (sometimes) make people move. When Megan's mother dies in a tragic car accident, her dreams of dancing are shaken after a move to live with her despondent father (sound familiar?). But her dream of dancing is not lost when she finds new friends at her new school who just so happen to dance in a street gang. Spoofing films like “Save the Last Dance” and “Step Up,” Shawn, Marlon, Kim and Keenan Ivory Wayans are joined by Amy Sedaris and David Alan Grier in their latest comedy. Rated PG-13.
Gifted Hands: The Ben Carson Story
Cuba Gooding Jr. turns in a performance that has been called “powerful” in this film, inspired by the true story of Ben Carson, who grew up amid challenging circumstances of poverty and life on the inner city streets, to become one of the world’s best and most respected neurosurgeons. Elise plays Carson’s single mother who pushes her son to succeed with love and determination. Not Rated.
