Disney is making a second Mary Poppins movie
Here's some news that might have to be taken with a spoonful of sugar: Disney is making a second Mary Poppins movie.
They have "Into the Woods" director Rob Marshall and producers John Deluca and Mark Platt already on board for this movie.
The new movie will be set in London during the Great Depression. It will also get its material from the remaining stories in P.L. Travers' classic series.
The original movie mostly got its material from the first book; there are eight books total.
The filmmakers are working with Travers' beneficiaries and have already gotten the thumbs up from one of the guys who made the music for the original Poppins movie, Richard Sherman.
Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman are making the music this time around.
They also made the music for "Hairspray" and "Smash."
