A charming, dangerous short film, “Girls Named Pinky” will keep you guessing until the very end.
The film centers on a mysteriously beautiful woman who walks into a bar, and the mousy guy with glasses at the other end of the counter who can’t take his eyes off her.
There’s no reason she should be attracted to this man, and given the bartender’s comments about her jealous husband and her sleeping habits (if you know what I mean), the man would be well-served to leave her be.
But still he’s drawn to her and finds he can’t help but buy her a drink, ask her for a dance, and later (after many more drinks) offer her a ride home.
With its engaging, smoothly twisting narrative, “Pinky” is a tremendous mystery with an ending you’ll swear you saw coming, but really, don’t lie to yourself.
