Hoosiers made a bear for 'The Revenant'
If you've seen "The Revenant," you know that a bear didn't really attack Leonardo DiCaprio.
But what you probably didn't know was that some fellow Hooisers are the ones to thank for the bear attack sequence. Matt Shumway is a former Carmel High School Greyhound and Rich McBride is a former North Central High School Panther.
Shumway and McBride created the bear using computerized visual effects and Hollywood movie-magic tricks of the trade.
"The Revenant" director Alejandro González Iñárritu asked that they make the attack closely resemble what might happen in real life.
Now we have some fellow Hoosiers to root for during awards season!
