"Back to the Future" Midnight Madness!
Landmark Theatres kicks off its popular Midnight Madness series with the 1985 blockbuster, "Back to the Future." This Robert Zemeckis film and first of the three Back to the Future films stars Michael J. Fox as Marty McFly, a high school senior who mistakenly travels back in time in a DeLorean to 1955. While stuck in 1955 he befriends and helps his parents (Crispin Glover and Lea Thompson) in the hopes of making it back to 1985. Along the way he gets help from his absent-minded scientist/inventor friend, Dr. Emmett Brown (played hilariously by Christopher Lloyd).
For those who remember and grew up in the '80s, the film was all anyone talked about the summer of 1985. An all-around fun movie with great performances by its cast (especially the always charming Michael J. Fox) and memorable lines like, "Roads. Where we're going we don't need roads." Some of my favorite scenes in the film are the mad skateboarding stunts and skills by Fox's character, Marty McFly. I remember in 1985 my parents saw the film and promptly purchased my brother a skateboard. My brother and I have fond memories of that summer where we practiced our own skateboarding tricks. And, who can forget the catchy title song "The Power of Love" by Huey Lewis and The News.
Travel back in time to the '80s and catch "Back to the Future" at Landmark Theatres at midnight on June 6 & 7.
