Movie Mondays: The Impersonators

Every Monday night, Film Yapper Joshua Hull & Redemption Alewerks (7035 E. 96th St.) host MOVIE MONDAYS. Every Monday afternoon, Hull will talk about the chosen film along with the custom food & drink menu Redemption will pair with the screening here on The Film Yap.

JOSHUA HULL: "In making 'The Impersonators,' our goal wasn't to make a typical superhero movie. We didn't want to spoof the genre either. We wanted to do a gritty, hard-R comedy about a bunch of losers who had zero desire to be heroes. Hell, they barely had any desire to leave the house! We thought that would be a great way to tell a story about superhero impersonators. We also didn't want them to 'look the part.' We wanted to tell a story."

Mr Super Vs the Dawgs. $12 Served with a choice of side All beef hot dog with macaroni and cheese, pulled pork, caramelized onions, bourbon mushrooms, cilantro pesto and bbq sauce.

Super Rentals. $7 Deep fried white chocolate cheesecake bites drizzled with hot fudge and bourbon raspberry sauce.

The Flying Fox 1 part scotch 1 part Drambuie 1 part grenadine 2 parts OJ

The Sparrow 1 part midori 1 part absinthe 3 parts mellow yellow

THE IMPERSONATORS follows a group of ragtag birthday-party superhero impersonators who are hired by a crime-ridden town to clean up their streets. The impersonators soon find themselves in over their heads in a hilarious fight for survival. An official selection of the 2014 ST. LOUIS INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL, "The Impersonators" will screen at 9 p.m. Monday, Feb. 9 at Redemption Alewerks, 7035 E 96th St, Indianapolis, Indiana.
