This bleak short drama relies on some clichéd material, but tells its story well. A struggling couple are being hounded by loan sharks due to the husband's gambling debts, and things aren't helped when his long-lost son is dropped off on their doorstep.
The father, who at first glance seems to be a no-account lout, tries to sell the boy to an orphanage, but is turned away because he's too old. Then he is pressured to have the boy killed so his organs can be harvested. The film builds real tension, but we've seen all this before.
