Robert Downey Jr. discusses "The Judge" at Heartland Film Event
Robert Downey Jr. made an appearance in Indianapolis at a special advance screening of his new film "The Judge" as the surprise guest of director David Dobkin.
Dobkin announced that he was being joined by a special guest and that "unfortunately, none of the cast could attend, so instead I brought a producer," bringing Downey out and drawing a gasp from the crowd.
The duo then introduced the film before exiting the theater for a session with the media, including an interview from The Film Yap's Christopher Lloyd; his interview will appear on WISH-TV's IndyStyle on Friday at 9:00 am. "I'm sorry, I'm in the wrong place," he said. "I thought this was Awesome Con."
After the film Downey and Dobkin discussed the film in a Q&A moderated by Heartland Film President Stuart Lowry. Downey dazzled the sold-out crowd with tales from the set, doing an impression of co-star Robert Duvall, Thomas Newman's music, his own musical career, and more.
