"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" breaks insane records
If you're a "Star Wars" fan, you're not the only one.
"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" has completely crushed all kinds of records, proving that the "Star Wars" fanbase is as big as a galaxy.
Some of those records were broken here at the Indiana State Museum's IMAX Theater, where a rare version of the movie with 15/70 mm projection was playing.
The first record that was shattered was the amount of presale tickets that were bought.
During its presale, "The Force Awakens" brought in more money than any other movie that had ever played at the IMAX theater in the two decades it's been at the Indiana State Museum.
The records at the theater get even crazier from there.
*From December 17th-December 27th, 22,309 "Star Wars" fans went to the IMAX theater to see "The Force Awakens", which is almost the same number as the Brownsburg, Indiana population.
*"Star Wars" lovers bought 837 gallons of soda, which could fill two six person hot tubs.
*1,284 beers were drank, you could fill a 150 gallon fish tank with that, and still have some left over.
*1,225 pounds of popcorn were made, which would almost balance the scales with a giant leatherback sea turtle.
You might not be a part of any records, but you can still get tickets at www.imaxindy.com.
Full price tickets are $16.
Matinee tickets are $13.
