Writer/Director Sean Durkin, "The Nest"

Writer/Director Sean Durkin's follow-up to the well-received "Martha Marcy May Marlene" is "The Nest," an atmospheric thriller surrounding well-to-do married couple Rory (Jude Law) and Allison (Carrie Coon) who move from New York to London in the late 80s. Rory is an investment banker who smells big riches, and buys a gothic old mansion for his family, only to find it is a strain their family may not survive.

In this interview Durkin discusses making a haunted house story without the haunted house, creating believably family dynamics, and landing Jude Law to headline his film.
